Tredicina and Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua

2025 Edition

The 2025 tredicina in Avetrana, in the province of Taranto, combined devotion and popular tradition. The secular program in Piazza Vittorio Veneto included the play "Le sorprese del divorzio" with a tasting of local products (June 3), the pole-climbing game (June 4), the comedy "Li Corni d'Argentu" (June 6), and a concert by Antonio Castrignanò (June 7). On June 12, the "Giglio d'Oro" (20th edition) and "Giglio alla Vita" awards were presented, accompanied by a performance by the Castellana Grotte band. On June 13, the saint's day, the Ballata dei Cavalli took place with the reenactment of the miracle and the parade of horse-drawn wagons laden with wheat ears, accompanied by the Noci band and artistic illuminations. The community of Erchie accompanied the saint's statue during the procession.
