Edition 2025 — Transhumance Festival

In 2025, the Transhumance Festival once again enlivened the village of Barrea with initiatives dedicated to pastoral culture and the shepherd trails of the Abruzzo National Park. Promoted by the Pro Loco Vallis Regia with the Fondazione CREA and the Abruzzo Region, the event confirmed the village's vocation as a guardian of the memory of transhumance, a UNESCO intangible heritage.

The 2025 edition of the Transhumance Festival took place in Barrea, in the municipality overlooking the lake of the same name within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. The event continued the path of promoting Abruzzo's pastoral tradition, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, involving the village community, scholars, and artists.

On that occasion as well, the event was promoted by the Pro Loco Vallis Regia together with the Fondazione CREA and the Abruzzo Region, focusing on the bond between people, the territory, and the ancient shepherd trails that cross the Upper Sangro Valley.
