Trame Contemporanee - Contemporary Drama Festival

The 4th edition of Trame Contemporanee was held from September 26 to November 12, 2025, spread across Molfetta and Bari. A rich programme featuring 25 events, 18 performances, 13 companies, and over 50 artists, including 9 national debuts and 4 regional premieres.

The festival opened on September 26 at the Cittadella degli Artisti with a national debut produced by the Compagnia Umberto Orsini. Among the most anticipated events were Pino Strabioli with his tribute to Paolo Poli, Sempre fiori, mai un fioraio, and Massimo Venturiello with La prima indagine di Montalbano as a regional premiere. There were also performances in English, immersive journeys like San Nicola dei baresi in the Bari Vecchia district, and works by young companies.

Realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region, and the Municipality of Molfetta, in partnership with Teatri di Bari, the 2025 edition confirmed Trame Contemporanee as an observatory of new Italian drama, accompanied by the Drama Award dedicated to playwriting.
