The 2025 Matòci Carnival

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the ancient wooden masks of the Matòci once again paraded through the hamlets of Valfloriana, in the Val di Fiemme. The day began at 10:00 AM with the departure from Sicina and breakfast, continuing with the traditional stops: at noon, lunch in Montalbiano with polenta, stew, and cheese; in the afternoon, refreshments in Valle-Casanova and a sweet and savory snack in Dorà; finally, around 5:00 PM, the conclusion in Villaggio with hot sandwiches. The facère carved from Swiss pine wood, the hand-stitched costumes, the music of the Sonadori, and the Contrest confirmed the uniqueness of this peasant festival.
