Traditional Holy Name of Mary Feast with Procession (Maria Namen Feier)

The Maria Namen Feier 2025 took place on Sunday, September 14, in Silandro/Schlanders. After the solemn mass in the parish church, the statue of the Madonna "Unsere Liebe Frau am Rain" was carried in a procession through the village streets.

The procession included the choir of the Silandro parish church, the Silandro brass band, the Corces brass band, altar servers, members of the local Schützen companies, first communion children, and delegations from local associations, with flag and statue bearers. Among the celebrants were Dean P. Mathew, Michael Horrer, and Vicar General Eugen Runggaldier. As per centuries-old tradition, the day concluded with a garden party at the Matscher Au.
