The 2025 edition of the Tour de Suisse took place entirely on Swiss territory: Switzerland's most important stage race confirmed its international prestige, preparing for the historic debut in Italy scheduled for 2026 with the Grand Départ from Sondrio.

Before the historic edition starting from Sondrio, the 2025 Tour de Suisse was held, as is tradition, on the roads of Switzerland, confirming itself as one of the most followed stage races on the international cycling calendar, a prelude to the Tour de France. The choice of Sondrio and Valtellina as the venue for the 2026 Grand Départ was announced precisely during the presentation of the host cities for the subsequent edition, marking the first time the Swiss race opened in Italy.
