The grand tour of Sabina featuring supercars, vintage cars, and timeless villages
Torri in Rosso is an exclusive event conceived by Manlio Serilli, president of the organizing committee, designed to celebrate the authentic beauty of Sabina through a loop itinerary that weaves together engines, culture, and breathtaking views. It is not merely a car parade, but a true grand tour where modern supercars and vintage cars—with a strong presence of Ferraris—traverse some of the most evocative villages in the province of Rieti, in the heart of Lazio.
The rally kicks off in the medieval alleys of Torri in Sabina, the small municipality in the Rieti Sabina area that gives the event its name. Here, crews gather early in the morning for registration, amidst the curiosity of residents and visitors who can admire these rare and elegant vehicles up close. The start of the procession opens a parade immersed in ancient olive groves and timeless hilly landscapes.
The route touches some of the gems of lower Sabina. The first stop is Stimigliano, a village overlooking the Tiber Valley, where participants are welcomed with an aperitif in the Renaissance setting of Castello Orsini. The tour then continues through Forano, with its square dominated by Palazzo Strozzi, and Gavignano Sabino, before arriving in Casperia, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, where the caravan stops for the entire day: a convivial lunch, car exhibitions, visits to historic residences, and walks through the maze of medieval alleys.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Associazione Radici Sabine of Casperia, an organization committed to promoting local heritage. Accompanying and coordinating guests throughout the day is cultural anthropologist Tiziana Ciavardini: a detail that perfectly captures the spirit of the event, where cars serve as a pretext to rediscover the history, art, and identity of Sabina.
Sabina is a land of olive-covered hills, Romanesque abbeys, and perched villages, less than an hour from Rome yet far from mass tourism circuits. Events like Torri in Rosso, supported by the Municipality of Torri in Sabina and the administrations of the villages involved, help promote this corner of the Lazio region, where the roar of engines blends with the silence of the alleys and the beauty of the hilly landscapes.
The 2026 edition of Torri in Rosso took place on Sunday, May 31, confirming the formula that has made the event a highly anticipated appointment in lower Sabina: a loop itinerary through the villages of the Rieti province, traveled by a caravan of supercars and vintage cars where Ferraris took center stage.
The day opened at 8:00 AM in the medieval alleys of Torri in Sabina, with crew registration starting at 9:00 AM. The procession then set off through ancient olive groves and hilly landscapes, with the first stop in Stimigliano for a refined aperitif in the Renaissance setting of Castello Orsini. After passing through Forano, in front of Palazzo Strozzi, and Gavignano Sabino, the event concluded in Casperia with lunch, car exhibitions, visits to historic residences, and exploration of the village. Coordinating the guests, alongside the committee led by Manlio Serilli and the Associazione Radici Sabine of Casperia, was cultural anthropologist Tiziana Ciavardini.
By car: Torri in Sabina can be reached from the A1 Rome-Florence motorway (exits Ponzano Romano-Soratte or Magliano Sabina), continuing on local roads towards lower Sabina; from Rieti, follow the SS313 Ternana. By train: the most convenient stations are on the Rome-Orte line (Poggio Mirteto and Stimigliano), after which a private vehicle or taxi is required to reach the villages.
The rally follows an itinerary through multiple municipalities: the public can watch the procession pass and visit the stops in the historic centers of Torri in Sabina, Stimigliano, Forano, Gavignano Sabino, and Casperia. Wear comfortable shoes for the stone alleys and keep your camera ready. There are many agritourisms and B&Bs in the villages: the area is perfect for a weekend of olive oil, wine, and Sabina abbeys.
