Edition 2025 — Tomba di Natale

The 2025 edition of the Tomba di Natale took place on December 24th in Pescasseroli, with the lighting of the great bonfire in the square of the Abbey of Saints Peter and Paul. Around 300 quintals of wood were burned around the hearth, on a holy night that saw the participation of the entire community. The tradition had been preceded on Sunday, December 7th, by an initial bonfire for the eve of the Immaculate Conception.

Tomba di Natale 2025

On December 24, 2025, Pescasseroli renewed its most iconic ritual: on the holy night, around the great bonfire lit in front of the Abbey of Saints Peter and Paul, residents, families, young and old gathered together. For the 2025 edition, about 300 quintals of wood were stacked and burned, with the village youth working with enthusiasm and dedication to prepare the hearth, described as "the bridge between past and future." The fire, in addition to warming the cold December air, renewed "the bonds, memories, and sense of belonging" of one of the communities most faithful to its traditions in the Marsica region. As is customary, the cycle of winter fires was inaugurated on December 7th with the bonfire for the eve of the Immaculate Conception.
