2025: The rebirth of the Ancona Art Gallery

The year 2025 marked a fundamental milestone for the Francesco Podesti Civic Art Gallery: after about two years of renovation and refitting work, the museum in Palazzo Bosdari reopened its doors on December 6, 2025, returning one of its most precious art treasures to the city of Ancona and the Marche region.

During the closure, Titian's famous Gozzi Altarpiece from 1520 had been loaned to Pieve di Cadore, the master's birthplace, where it was the subject of study and enhancement. Its return to Ancona, along with the new layout, paved the way for the extraordinary exhibition in 2026 that would bring together three masterpieces by the Venetian painter.
