Rifugio Teatrale: the 2025 edition

The 2025 edition of TiQ – Teatro in Quota brought the theme of Rifugio Teatrale to Rocca di Mezzo: an invitation to consider theatre as a space of welcome and shelter, in dialogue with the mountains of the Sirente-Velino Regional Park. For one week in August, the village on the Altopiano delle Rocche, in the province of L'Aquila, returned to being a sprawling stage across squares, trails, and symbolic community landmarks.

As per tradition, the programme alternated between shows, site-specific performances, artistic residencies, and workshops also open to the public, giving space to the new contemporary theatre and dance scene. Under the artistic direction of Alessandro Businaro, TiQ reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the inland Abruzzo region through the performing arts, offering the audience an immersive experience at 1,500 metres altitude.
