Edition 2025 — Theaters of Light and Peace
The fifth edition (2025)
From May 23 to June 1, 2025, Mattinata hosted the fifth edition of Theaters of Light and Peace, the civil theater festival promoted by the Municipality with the coordination of AVL and the artistic direction of Gianfelice Imparato. The main theme was empathy, the memory of mafia victims, and social anti-mafia efforts, in a journey that combined auteur theater, documentaries, and civic debate.
Key events included the musical reading "Una cosa sola – Reflections on the power of the mafias" with Gianfelice Imparato and Alessandra D'Ambrosio, the play "Agnese's Room" with Sara Bevilacqua dedicated to the memory of Agnese and Paolo Borsellino, and the closing event on June 1st with "How to become rich and famous overnight" by Emanuele Aldrovandi. The program also featured the screening of the documentary "The blood never washed away" by Luciano Toriello and theater workshops with local schools. Admission was free.
