The Village Becomes a Nativity Scene

The 2024-2025 edition

During the winter of 2024-2025, the historic center of Poggio Bustone, in the province of Rieti, once again transformed into a large open-air nativity scene. The papier-mâché statues recreated a life-sized Christmas village, made largely from recycled materials, along the usual circular route through squares, alleys, and historic cellars.

Until Epiphany, it was possible to be enveloped by the atmosphere of a distant time, among the figures of cobblers, pipers, and woodcutters placed in scenes dedicated to traditional crafts. The village school students animated the initiative with songs and musical moments, confirming the strongly communal character of the event.

The visit remained free and open for the entire duration of the display, with evening lighting serving as a distinctive element of the route.
