The Theatre of Orpheus — Orfeo Tamburi

The exhibition 'The Theatre of Orpheus' stems from a project to enhance the artistic heritage of Jesi (province of Ancona, Marche), which has seen the Civic Museums of Jesi and the Pergolesi Spontini Foundation committed to rediscovering the figure of Orfeo Tamburi, an internationally renowned painter from Jesi.

The relaunch of the 'Città di Jesi – Rosa Papa Tamburi' Prize, established by the artist in 1974, and the acquisition of his works by the Municipality are part of a consolidated cultural activity in the city, between the Teatro Pergolesi and the historic palaces of the center, which each year offers exhibitions and initiatives dedicated to the art and memory of the territory.
