The Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts at the Mattatoio

The 2025 edition of the Academy at the Mattatoio took place at La Pelanda from January 31 to May 18, featuring 33 days of free performances and ten national debuts. The program showcased students from the acting and directing courses, guided by masters of the national and international stage.

Projects included a work inspired by Franz Kafka under the artistic supervision of Giorgio Barberio Corsetti with second-year students, exercises curated by Giovanni Ortoleva with the third-year acting class, and four studies from the wordworldwar.bomb project by the two-year advanced course led by Antonio Latella, featuring renowned directors such as Thom Luz, Sebastian Nübling, and Natalie Beasse. Rounding out the season was the 17th edition of the Contaminazioni festival, featuring free theatrical experiments conceived by the students. In 2025, admission remained free with reservation, confirming the role of the Mattatoio di Testaccio as a showcase for the Roman theatre of tomorrow.
