The Scientific Chimney Month

The 2025 edition of the Scientific Chimney Month brought the Città della Scienza in Catania to life from May 13 to June 13. Major highlights included the inauguration of the new planetarium, for virtual journeys into the cosmos, and the MIRI immersive room, featuring sensory and visual effects. The Thursday and Friday AperiScienza meetings covered topics such as nanotechnology, Mount Etna, diamonds, quantum technology, water, and the environment. The European Night of Museums (May 17) offered guided tours, videomapping on the chimney, and holographic projections, while the day of May 25 was dedicated to the sea with workshops on underwater acoustics, cetacean sounds, and alien species. All activities were free with booking.
