The Return from the Woods

The re-enactment The Return from the Woods 2025 was held from October 17-19 in San Pietro di Valdastico, along the ancient Singela path. The event, organized by the Municipality of Valdastico with the OGD Pedemontana Veneta e Colli, attracted thousands of people over the three days of celebration.

On Friday, October 17, at 6 PM, the official opening with the lighting of the large woodcutter's stove and the participation of sculptor Marco Martalar and sleddog champion Lisa Bonato with her huskies, followed by live music. Saturday, October 18, was dedicated to folk games and street circus, featuring Mauro and Marianna Corona and the cuccagna competition. Sunday, October 19, was the highlight: the grand historical parade descended from the mountain amidst ancient crafts, animals, workhorses, folk songs, and the valley's mythological figures, with writer Matteo Righetto as a special guest.
