The Open-Air Nativity Village

The fifth edition (2025)

In December 2025, The Open-Air Nativity Village returned to Ortona dei Marsi for its fifth edition, confirming the Christmas initiative promoted by the Pro Loco Ortona dei Marsi APS together with the local residents. The streets of the historic center turned into an evocative trail where every alley, square, or corner of the village hosted a nativity scene, crafted with natural materials and artisanal elements, in classic representations or original interpretations of the Nativity.

The works, fruit of the residents' creativity, remained on display from Christmas Day until Epiphany, offering the opportunity to rediscover the Marsican village in its most authentic Christmas atmosphere. An open-air museum, spread between the main town and the hamlets, which confirmed Ortona dei Marsi as one of the most characteristic "nativity villages" in the Marsica region and the Abruzzo Region.
