The Night of the Ring

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Castello Teofilatto in Torre Cajetani, in the province of Frosinone, hosted the eighth edition of the Night of the Ring, dedicated to the theme of hope in dialogue with the Jubilee year. The afternoon opened at 4:00 PM with «Shire games» for children aged 6 and up, followed at 5:00 PM by the «Hobbit Workshop» with readings and stories. At 6:00 PM, the main lecture «SPE SALVI: hope in The Lord of the Rings» brought together Paolo Gulisano, Paolo Nardi, Pietro Teofilatto, Emmanuele Di Leo, and Federico Iadicicco, preceded by the speech «Fortresses, battles, and heroines: hope shines through». At 7:30 PM, Marco Sarandrea spoke about «Elanor: aromatic herbs in The Lord of the Rings», before the acoustic concert «Sounds of Rivendell». In the evening, the «Minas… Torre» guided night tour led visitors through the castle and medieval village, while the «Prancing Pony» culinary corner offered flavors inspired by the Shire. The event was completed by an exhibition of historical musical instruments and illustrations by Martina Fratarcangeli.
