The Monk's Tournament – The Tournament of Ferrara

The XXI edition of La Giostra del Monaco was held in Ferrara from August 28 to September 7, 2025, at the Baluardo di Santa Maria della Fortezza, along Viale IV Novembre.

For eleven days, visitors could explore the medieval encampment with its daily life settings, the workshops of artisans – blacksmiths, weavers, carpenters, squires, and merchants – and participate in activities for children: pony and horse rides organized by ASD Il Tridente, a play area, workshops with La Maga Pasticciona, and archery.

Every evening, from 9:30 PM, the Arena del Baluardo came alive with free shows; the inauguration on Thursday, August 28, was entrusted to the group Daridel. The taverns – Taverna dell'Aquila Bianca, Locanda del Monaco, and Hostaria del Borgo – offered cuisine inspired by medieval tradition.
