The Great Jazz Night

A Night of Jazz in the City's Main Theatre

The Great Night of Jazz is now a regular fixture on Brescia's cultural scene: once a year, the Teatro Grande, the city's historic theatre in the Province of Brescia, opens all its halls to host a musical marathon that runs from late afternoon until the early hours of the morning.

Three Itineraries, One Evening

The idea that makes the event unique is that of the three thematic itineraries — named Air, Earth, and Fire — which wind through the monumental spaces of the theatre: the Ridotto, the Salone delle Scenografie, and the Sala del Palcoscenico Borsoni. The audience chooses their own itinerary and lets themselves be guided from one concert to another, in an immersive and informal experience, far from the rigidity of traditional seating.

Musicians from Around the World

Each edition brings together over thirty musicians, Italian and foreign, from various countries: from the Netherlands to Norway, from France to Mexico, from Canada to the United States, and even Iceland. The eleven concerts span the many facets of jazz, from mainstream to the most contemporary fusions.

The Grand Finale and the Late Night Jam

Around 10:30 PM, the three itineraries converge in the Sala Grande for the concluding concert that brings all the audience together. The night is closed by the Late Night Jam, a jazz club-style jam session for a limited number of spectators, where musicians gather on stage to improvise until late. A finale that captures the convivial and free spirit of this Brescia evening.
