The Golden Cicciolo

The 2025 edition, the 26th, of Il Cicciolo d'Oro was held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in the historic center of Campagnola Emilia (RE). This year again, the town welcomed the gathering of pork butchers with copper cauldrons cooked over a wood fire and the competition for the titles of Best Pork Butcher, Best Under 30, and Most Beautiful Cauldron in the World.

The jury of the Academia Iudices Salatii met from 3:00 PM to judge the competing ciccioli, followed by the awards ceremony. From 5:00 PM, the double Guinness World Record Supercicciolo, two forms weighing approximately 180 kg in total, was distributed free of charge. There was no shortage of gnocco fritto, mulled wine, hot chocolate, food stands, markets, and music between Piazza Roma and the center, confirming a festival that remains a highlight of December in Reggio Emilia.
