Edition 2025 — The Flowered Village

The second edition of "Il Borgo Fiorito" animated Zungoli from April to September 2025, confirming the formula launched the previous year by the Pro Loco: embellishing the spaces and corners of one of Italy's most beautiful villages with flowers, plants, and—a novelty that year—crochet decorations. Objectives: to promote the village, strengthen the sense of belonging, and make the historic center more welcoming. Prizes up for grabs for the most beautiful displays.

The second edition of the contest

In 2025, "Il Borgo Fiorito" was repeated in Zungoli, in the Province of Avellino, with the same long duration as the first edition: from April to September, residents had time to set up and tend to their flowered corner, among the tuff alleys of the historic center and the small squares at the foot of the Norman Castle.

The competition, promoted by the Pro Loco Zungoli and included in the Sistema Irpinia calendar with the support of the Province of Avellino, expanded the range of allowed techniques in this edition, welcoming crochet decorations alongside traditional floral arrangements. The objectives remained unchanged: the promotion of the place, the strengthening of the sense of belonging to the community, and the welcoming of visitors, who were increasingly numerous in this corner of upper Irpinia.

2025 was also a year full of appointments for the village, from the "Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy" in June to the summer festivals: the competing corners served as a backdrop for the entire season, preparing the ground for the extraordinary national visibility that Zungoli obtained the following year.
