Edition 2025 — The Crossing
The edition that preceded Viareggio
The charity water bike crossing organized by the Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco took its first steps on the Calvi–Monaco route, approximately 180 kilometers long, before moving the start to Viareggio, Italy, in 2026. On the route taken, teams departed from the port of Calvi to reach Larvotto Beach in the Principality in a relay, pedaling for nearly 24 hours, even in the middle of the night.
Five groups of athletes, including sports champions, personalities, and Monegasque residents, took turns in the open sea to support the Foundation's campaigns dedicated to swimming instruction, water safety, and drowning prevention. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène launched the challenge, confirming the Princely family's commitment to a cause that, since 2012, has reached hundreds of thousands of people in dozens of countries.
