Edition 2025 — Burning of the Giubiana

In 2025, the Burning of the Giubiana once again renewed the ancient Brianza tradition of the last Thursday of January in Mariano Comense. Amidst risotto with luganega sausage, mulled wine, a procession, and the burning of the effigy, the Pro Loco brought the community together for an evening of celebration and popular memory.

The 2025 edition of the Burning of the Giubiana confirmed the vitality of this Brianza tradition in Mariano Comense. The gathering at Villa Sormani, with risotto with luganega sausage and mulled wine, followed by the procession to the Parco dei Vivai, marked the evening of the burning.

Organized by the Pro Loco, the event brought together families and citizens around the propitiatory fire, keeping alive a ritual rooted in the region's peasant culture, in anticipation of the 2026 edition.
