The Befana Comes from the Sea

The 8th edition of The Befana Comes from the Sea took place on Monday, January 6, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, at Piazzale Democrate by the Ponte di Pietra in Taranto. As per tradition, the Befana arrived from the sea aboard the rowers' longboat to reach the children waiting on the dock.

The morning offered music, games, and entertainment for the little ones, culminating in the distribution of the stockings. In 2025, the initiative once again had a strong charitable value: for every stocking reserved, one was gifted to children from various local associations. The event, conceived and managed by the Polisportiva Vogatori Taras ASD, was carried out in collaboration with UISP Taranto and the Fondazione Taranto 25, with the patronage of the Municipality of Taranto, the Puglia Region, the Province of Taranto, and the FICSF.
