Edition 2025 — Thanksgiving Festival

In 2025, Caltabellotta once again renewed its Thanksgiving Festival, the 'Festa di li Fimmini', between late March and early April. The community gathered to commemorate the rain miracle of March 27, 1957, with the traditional processions of the statues of the Madonna dei Miracoli and the 'Dio Vivo' Crucifix, organized by the local women's committee.

The tradition of thanksgiving

The 2025 edition of the Thanksgiving Festival in Caltabellotta (Agrigento) followed the ritual unchanged over time. As every year between late March and early April, the committee of local women — hence the popular name 'Festa di li Fimmini' — oversaw the organization of the celebrations in thanksgiving to the SS. Crocifisso 'Dio Vivo' and Maria SS. dei Miracoli.

The procession, which started from the Church of the Capuchins towards the Church of Saint Augustine, passed through the streets of the historic center, visiting the various districts of the village, in memory of the rain miracle that saved the crops from drought in 1957.
