Edition 2025 — Tertio Millennio Film Fest
The 29th edition of the Tertio Millennio Film Fest, promoted by the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, was held from November 5 to 9, 2025, at the Cinema Teatro Don Bosco in the Cinecittà district of Rome. The theme of the year was the question of how the sacred manifests itself in the contemporary world, amidst faith, fragility, and the search for meaning.
The international competition brought together eight feature films, six of which were Italian premieres, under the artistic direction of Gianluca Arnone and Marina Sanna. Among the titles in competition were Agnus Dei by Massimiliano Camaiti, Lo scuru by William Lombardo, Traffic by Teodora Mihai, Reedland by Sven Bresser, El mensaje by Iván Fund, and Hysteria by Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay.
The festival opened with the special event The Smashing Machine by Benny Safdie, presented by Gabriele Mainetti, and offered a tribute for the thirtieth anniversary of The Addiction by Abel Ferrara. The opening ceremony hosted a "Greeting of Peace" with representatives of various religious communities present in Italy.
