About Terra!

Terra! is the national festival of the Green and Left Alliance (Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra), a major political and cultural event that brings Rome to life every September with days of debates, book presentations, concerts, performances, and popular cuisine. Launched in 2024 at Parco Nomentano and held in 2025 at the MONK cultural center, the event gathers political figures, activists, journalists, and artists to discuss the environment, social rights, peace, and climate justice. Admission is free.

Terra!, the national festival of the Green and Left Alliance

Terra! is the national festival of the Green and Left Alliance (AVS), an annual event held in Rome, the heart of the Lazio region, typically during the first half of September. Following the model of major Italian political festivals, the event blends civic engagement with celebration: five days of debates, meetings, book presentations, concerts, shows, and food stalls, all with completely free admission.

A festival of ideas and participation

The name Terra! (Earth!) reflects the core themes of the AVS political and ecological project: environmental protection, climate justice, social rights, labor, and peace. Throughout its editions, the festival has hosted political figures, administrators, unionists, activists, journalists, and intellectuals, complemented by evening concerts, comedy shows, and readings, in an open and participatory atmosphere that engages both activists and the curious public.

From Parco Nomentano to MONK

The first edition took place from September 11 to 15, 2024, at Parco Nomentano, in the Montesacro district near Piazza Sempione. The second edition, held from September 3 to 7, 2025, moved to the MONK cultural center on Via Giuseppe Mirri in the Casal Bertone-Portonaccio district, featuring its spacious outdoor green area. The festival thus confirms its itinerant nature within the Capital, always choosing locations capable of hosting stages, stalls, and family areas.

More than just politics

Alongside the debates, Terra! offers a rich cultural program: live concerts every evening, comedy and civic theater performances, book presentations, photography exhibitions, a children's area, and a dining area with popular cuisine and local products. Free access and the open-square festival format make Terra! an opportunity to combine public discussion, social interaction, and entertainment in the heart of Rome.
