Teatro Massimo Summer Season in Palermo

The 2025 summer season at Teatro Massimo opened on June 22 with "CantVs. Canto per Santa Rosalia," a work commissioned from composer Maria Chiara Casà and performed by the theater's Choir and Children's Choir. The program featured operatic galas with voices such as Desirée Rancatore and Francesco Castoro, choral programs dedicated to Bernstein, Barber, Dvořák, Brahms, and Schumann, and a performance of Brahms' Requiem in memory of the victims of Via D'Amelio.

Highlights included the Tango and Dance Grand Gala (July 17 and 18), with the ballet company directed by Jean-Sébastien Colau and stars from the Royal Danish Ballet and the Estonian National Ballet, as well as Carl Orff's Carmina Burana (July 9 and 21). The season concluded from July 27 to 31 with "Fatalità," a dance and music show dedicated to the great tragic female figures of literature and opera, from Juliet to Carmen.
