Edition 2025 — Tavuliata di San Giuseppe

On May 1st, 2025, in Leni, on the island of Salina, the Tavuliata di San Giuseppe took place, a day of celebration, faith, and tradition. As per custom, after mass and the offertory of the dishes, the afternoon procession was held, followed by the table of the twelve children beside the Holy Family, with pasta and chickpeas in the quadare and typical Aeolian sweets, before the fireworks.

The May 1st, 2025 edition of the Tavuliata di San Giuseppe confirmed the vitality of a tradition in Leni that dates back to the late 19th century. The community of the island of Salina gathered for Holy Mass in the church of St. Joseph and for the offertory of the dishes brought to the altar. In the afternoon, the procession passed through the village before the setting of the table in front of the Town Hall, where the twelve children reenacted the Apostles beside the Holy Family. The pasta and chickpeas, cooked in copper quadare, and Aeolian sweets enlivened the communal lunch, while fireworks closed the day.
