Edition 2025 — Tavole di San Giuseppe
In 2025, the ritual of the Tavole di San Giuseppe in Uggiano la Chiesa took place as scheduled on March 18th and 19th, confirming the vitality of a centuries-old Salento tradition. Families set up large votive tables in their homes, complete with the Saint's effigy, decorated breads, and symbolic Lenten courses. Despite adverse weather conditions, about fifty visitors reached the village and the hamlet of Casamassella to witness the blessing of the tables and the table of the 'Saints', featuring massa with chickpeas, fried fish, lampascioni, and the unmissable zeppole di San Giuseppe. An edition that reaffirmed the value of sharing, devotion, and hospitality of this ritual in the Lecce territory.
