Edition 2025 — Tavole di San Giuseppe
The 2025 Tavole di San Giuseppe
In 2025, Nociglia renewed the ancient rite of the Tavole di San Giuseppe in Lower Salento. On the evening of March 18th, local families set up the tables in their homes, following a tradition that has been repeated for centuries.
On March 19th, the saint's feast day, the guests attended the liturgical service before sitting at the tables for the ritual lunch. The tables featured typical Salento dishes—lampascioni, vermicelli with cabbage, fried fish, pittule, and zeppole—alongside ritual bread shaped into sacred symbols, in a moment of faith, memory, and sharing for the entire community of the Province of Lecce.
