Taganu Festival

The 2025 edition of the Taganu Festival was held in Aragona, in the province of Agrigento, during the Easter period (which fell on April 20, 2025). As per tradition, the village celebrated its signature dish, the taganu, with numerous tasting stalls along the streets of the center, accompanied by local products and regional wine.

The festival was part of the broader Aragonese Holy Week program, marked by the blessing of the palms, the night procession on Good Friday with the singing of the Vere Filius, and the Easter Incontro in the square between the Risen Christ, the Madonna, and the pupi of Saints Peter and Paul. Folk dances enlivened the evenings, confirming the strong bond between cuisine, devotion, and the popular tradition of this Sicani village.
