Edition 2025 — Tables of Saint Joseph
On March 19, 2025, the ritual of the Tables of Saint Joseph was renewed in Riccia, with devout families busy setting up the altars with thirteen lean courses and preparing the chickpea and honey calzone, in an atmosphere of faith, hospitality, and sharing.
In March 2025, Riccia (CB) celebrated the Tables of Saint Joseph as tradition dictates. Devout families set up the altar-tables with the thirteen lean courses, opening their homes to visitors and the needy according to the ancient custom brought by the Capuchin monks. Among the dishes were cod prepared in various ways, legumes and vegetables, and the sweet Saint Joseph's calzone. The ritual reaffirmed its value as devotional and gastronomic heritage of the Fortore region.
