Sword Race and Palio of Camerino

The 44th edition of the Sword Race and Palio took place in Camerino until May 26, 2025, in a city still marked by post-earthquake reconstruction, amidst construction sites and cranes, but more united than ever in the celebration of its patron saint San Venanzio. The victory in the race went to Marco Ricci of the Muralto district, an athlete from Matelica registered with Cus Camerino, who completed the 1,130 meters in 3 minutes, 23 seconds, and 9 milliseconds: "I knew it was tough - he stated - but this time I was determined to win and I didn't give up." The Palio was won by the Sossanta district with 168 points, its second consecutive success, while the women's relay went to the Di Mezzo district. As tradition dictates, the edition featured the Dinner of the Thousand, the Terzieri taverns, the offering of the candles, and the grand historical parade.
