Edition 2025 — Sunday at the Museum Rome
A year of free Sundays
In 2025, the Sunday at the Museum initiative took place regularly on the first Sunday of every month, with the customary free opening of the Rome Capital Museum System and the city's state sites. The Capitoline Museums, Centrale Montemartini, Ara Pacis Museum, Gallery of Modern Art, and Museums of Villa Torlonia recorded very high attendance, especially during spring Sundays and holiday weekends.
Open-air archaeological sites—Largo Argentina Sacred Area, Circus Maximus, Imperial Forums, and the Caelian Hill Archaeological Park—were also accessible without a ticket, as were numerous temporary exhibitions. The 2025 edition consolidated the formula that is repeated identically in 2026, with mandatory reservations for groups and guided tours of Palazzo Senatorio always selling out within hours.
