Summer Sport Festival — The Cage

In 2025, sport in Mattinata was a key feature of the fifth edition of the Mattinata èXtraordinaria calendar, the summer program of the Municipality of Mattinata, on the Gargano, in the province of Foggia. The street football tournament, The Cage, was not yet present—it debuts in 2026—but the schedule included various initiatives dedicated to physical activity and the new generations.

Among the sporting proposals of the summer of 2025 were technical-coordinative football training sessions for children and teenagers organized by local sports clubs, outdoor fitness sessions on the Belvedere Monte Saraceno, gymnastic exhibitions, and sports festival moments open to all ages. A set of activities that confirmed the participatory and community-oriented nature of the town, which finds its flagship sporting event in the 2026 Summer Sport Festival — The Cage.
