Südtirol Gardenissima – The World's Longest Giant Slalom

The 27th Südtirol Gardenissima, scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Val Gardena, could not take place due to bad weather. On Mount Seceda and along the route descending towards the Col Raiser valley station, conditions were prohibitive: fog, snowfall, rain, and wind, with unstable snow in the lower sections and severely reduced visibility. To ensure the safety of the approximately 700 participants, the organisers were forced to cancel the race.

It was the first cancellation in the long history of the event, which until then had always enjoyed favourable conditions. Despite the halt to the competition, Val Gardena did not lose the festive spirit that characterises the event. All those registered for the cancelled edition were granted a 20% discount on the entry fee for the 2026 edition.
