The 40th anniversary of the festival

The 2025 edition of the Südtirol Festival Merano.Meran marked a significant milestone: the fortieth anniversary of the event, celebrated under the motto "Joy and inspiration". From August 16 to September 22, 2025, 26 concerts were held across seven thematic cycles in thirteen different venues, including the Kursaal of Merano, the Puccini Theatre, the Cathedral, the Pavillon des Fleurs, and the castles of the Burgraviato.

The festival hosted internationally renowned orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London conducted by Vasily Petrenko, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic conducted by Jaap van Zweden, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and the Dresdner Philharmonie conducted by Dima Slobodeniuk. Soloists included pianists Rudolf Buchbinder, Víkingur Ólafsson, Bruce Liu, and Jan Lisiecki, cellist Pablo Ferrández, and violinist Daniel Hope. Ticket prices ranged from approximately 10 to 150 euros.
