Edition 2025 — Sturno Carnival
Sturno Carnival 2025: The Second Edition
In 2025, the Sturno Carnival reached its second edition, confirming the success of its debut. The chosen dates were Saturday, March 1, Sunday, March 2, and Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with Sturno effectively closing the Irpinian carnival calendar.
Each day followed the same pattern: float gathering at 2:30 PM on Via Tre Santi, parade departure at 3:00 PM, an intermediate stop in Piazza Municipio around 4:00 PM, and arrival in Piazza Michele Aufiero around 6:00 PM. On Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2, the party continued with music, folk dancing, and DJ sets, while food trucks offered their specialties at the end of the parades.
On Sunday, March 2, at 9:00 AM, a special event was added: a gathering and parade of vintage cars and motorcycles organized by the Irpinian Association of Vintage Cars and Motorcycles "Ruote Bianche." The squares and streets of the Municipality of Sturno were filled with visitors from across the Province of Avellino who came to follow the allegorical floats built by a group of talented local young artisans.
