Strozegada de Santa Luzia

The Strozegada de Santa Luzia 2025 took place on Friday, December 12, 2025, with a meeting at 5:30 PM in Piazza Santa Margherita, in the heart of the village of Marter (Roncegno Terme, Trento province). As per tradition, children walked through the village streets dragging "strozeghe," tin cans tied with wire, making as much noise as possible to be heard by Saint Lucy. The event, free and open to all families, concluded with the arrival of the Saint and the distribution of gifts to the little ones. The Strozegada was part of the rich "Christmas in Roncegno Terme" calendar, which enlivened the village between late November and mid-December with lighting displays, nativity scenes, Christmas stalls, bagpipe players, and choral performances in the Church of Santa Margherita.
