Edition 2025 — String Quartet Festival

The 31st edition of the String Quartet Festival took place between July and August 2025 at the Pieve di San Pietro a Gropina, in Loro Ciuffenna (Arezzo). A series that brought Italian and international quartets under the Romanesque vaults, with an opening performance by students of the Accademia Chigiana and evenings dedicated to the great chamber repertoire. As per tradition, admission was free with a guided tour of the church before each concert.

The 31st edition of the String Quartet Festival, in 2025, opened on Wednesday, July 16 with quartets from the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena and a masterclass by maestro Clive Greensmith.

This was followed at the Pieve di Gropina on July 31 by the Quartetto Alioth with guitarist Luigi Attademo (music by Beethoven, Scarlatti, Aguado, and Boccherini) and on August 7 by the Fegus Quartet from Slovenia (Haydn, Smetana, Dvořák). The series concluded on August 20 with the Quartetto Indaco, preceded by a preview in Trequanda. The free concerts began at 9:30 PM, following the guided tour of the church.
