Edition 2025 — St. John's Night

In 2025, Sale San Giovanni also celebrated St. John's Night at the Arboreto Prandi, in the heart of the lavender season. The evening, dedicated to the summer solstice, featured the traditional walks through the blooming fields and the preparation of St. John's water, with the gathering of medicinal herbs and lavender according to the rural customs of the Bassa Langa.

The 2025 edition of St. John's Night was held on June 23 at the Arboreto Prandi in Sale San Giovanni, in the Province of Cuneo. As per tradition, the evening offered guided walks through the lavender fields at sunset, with stories of legends linked to the summer solstice and the properties of the medicinal plants grown on the village hills.

At the end of the event, a selection of herbs and flowers—lavender first and foremost—was distributed to be used for preparing St. John's water, the ancient "dew of the gods" which, according to popular culture, brings health and luck. The event confirmed the deep bond between Sale San Giovanni and its identity as the lavender village of Piedmont.
