Edition 2025 — St. John's Fire

In 2025, the community of Carrito, a hamlet of Ortona dei Marsi, once again renewed the traditional St. John's Fire. As is customary, the great propitiatory bonfire of the summer solstice was lit at the end of June in "La Fonte" square, organized by the Pro Loco Carrito, featuring an evening of sharing with flames, good food, and music.

The 2025 edition of the St. John's Fire confirmed the vitality of one of the most deeply felt traditions of Carrito, in the Giovenco Valley. In "La Fonte" square, the heart of the small village of Ortona dei Marsi (AQ), the Pro Loco Carrito rekindled the great summer solstice bonfire, a propitiatory rite linked to the night of St. John the Baptist. The community gathered around the fire in a convivial atmosphere that united residents and visitors through music, food, and shared memories. An event that renews the village's bond with its most ancient roots every year.
