SS. Crocifisso Festival ('U Jornu du Signuri)

2025 Edition

In 2025, the SS. Crocifisso Festival of Giuliana was celebrated according to tradition, on the Friday following Easter. As every year, the village in the Sicani Mountains in the province of Palermo experienced its most anticipated identity-defining appointment.

The eve featured the customary roasted sardine tasting in Piazza SS. Crocifisso, in memory of the ancient bond with the fishermen of Sciacca. On the solemn day, the dawn salute, the morning band parade, holy masses at the Church of the SS. Crocifisso, and in the evening, the two most emotional moments took place: the "scinnuta" of the Crucifix from its chapel and the procession of the wooden statue carried on shoulders through the town streets. The festival concluded with a fireworks display and musical entertainment.
