Edition 2025 — SPQR Festival

From September 19 to 21, 2025, Piazza Federico Sacco in Pietralata hosted the first edition of the SPQR Festival—Hope, People, Neighborhoods and Resistance. Three free days promoted by the Associazione V Zona APS with the support of Rome Capital, built around two daily events: a historical-cultural meeting in the late afternoon and a concert block in the evening, to raise funds for the monument to the Martyrs of Pietralata.

The debut of the SPQR Festival

The first edition opened on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM with the inaugural ceremony and the presentation of the monument project for the Martyrs of Pietralata, designed by students of the «Enzo Rossi» Art High School. That same evening, historian Davide Conti presented the book Roma in armi, followed by performances by students of the DAF Dance High School and live sets by Quercia, Quetz al Tenango, and Preferisco Ignazio.

Saturday, September 20, the discussion on Mussolini and fascism featured Miguel Gotor and Stefano Bises, while rapper Murubutu led a talk on literature in music. The evening featured DJ Baro, Bestierare, DJ Fastcut, Sace, Wiser, and Sgravo.

Sunday, September 21, the talk «The Fascism of Today» with Susetto er Duro and Daniele Fabbri preceded a reading by Pierpaolo Capovilla of the Letters of those sentenced to death during the Italian Resistance. The closing was musical, with 1M1CHAEL, Rbox Recordz, ZODA, Circe, and Montelupo.

Admission was free for all three days. The festival, supported under the «Artes et Iubilaeum 2025» public notice, confirmed Pietralata's vocation as a neighborhood of anti-fascist memory and grassroots culture.
