The 2025 Volleyball Week in Valdinievole

The 9th Volleyball Week of Special Olympics Italia brought unified volleyball to Tuscany with a regional leg in Pieve a Nievole (PT) on April 12, 2025, accompanied by a friendly match in Arezzo. Mixed teams of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities faced off in tournaments and demonstration sessions, with the goal of promoting the discipline in schools and among the general public.

The initiative, part of the annual national event, confirmed the deep roots of the Special Olympics movement in the Valdinievole area, a fertile ground from which the PalaPertini leg in Ponte Buggianese also originates.
