Edition 2025 — Chestnut Festival

The 58th edition of the Chestnut Festival took place in Soriano nel Cimino from October 3 to 19, 2025, spread over three weekends (October 3-5, 9-12, and 16-19). The four districts—Papacqua, Rocca, San Giorgio, and Trinità—competed in the Palio delle Contrade with the Giostra degli Anelli, amidst a historical pageant, re-enactments, flag-waver and falconer shows, and the traditional roasted chestnuts of the Cimini Mountains.

The 58th edition (2025)

From October 3 to 19, 2025, Soriano nel Cimino, in the province of Viterbo, hosted the 58th edition of the Chestnut Festival, distributed over three weekends: October 3-5, 9-12, and 16-19. As per tradition, the Tuscia village transformed into a large medieval stage: the Papacqua, Rocca, San Giorgio, and Trinità districts decorated streets and squares and vied for the palio in the Archery Contest and the Giostra degli Anelli.

The program offered the classic moments of the event: the blessing and investiture of archers and knights in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the grand historical pageant with hundreds of costumed participants, the evening historical re-enactment, the Convivium Secretum, the Popular Games, and the medieval life scenes of the Alacris Civitas, accompanied by roasted chestnuts and typical products of the Cimini Mountains. The ticket office for the 2025 edition was managed online and at the «Welcome to Soriano» tourist office, with grandstand seating and free viewing behind the barriers for the shows in the square.
