Solemnity of the Madonna della Cava

2025 Edition

On January 19, 2025, the community of Marsala gathered around Maria Santissima della Cava, its primary Patroness and protector of the Municipal Police. After the preparatory novena at the Sanctuary of the Cava, the festival day featured holy masses celebrated every hour from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sanctuary, while at 10:30 AM, the Eucharistic celebration dedicated to the Municipal Police feast was held at the Mother Church.

In the afternoon, the solemn procession of the small statue returned: departing from the Sanctuary at 3:30 PM, it traveled through the main streets of the city with a stop in front of the Town Hall, accompanied by the devotion of the faithful. The festival concluded at the Mother Church, where at 6:00 PM the Bishop presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration, renewing the city's entrustment to its protector.

• January 10-18 – Novena at the Sanctuary of the Cava
