Edition 2025 — San Bernardino da Siena
2025 Edition
The 2025 edition of the celebrations in honor of San Bernardino da Siena, co-patron of L'Aquila, took place from May 17th to 20th in the historic center of the Abruzzo capital, featuring religious, musical, and cultural events.
Key moments included: mass at Sella di Corno and the concert by the L'Aquila Chamber Orchestra in the Basilica (May 17), the San Bernardino Fair, the twinning of the cult between L'Aquila, Siena, and Massa Marittima, and activities for children with the Fire Department (May 18), the solemn mass with a procession to the Bernardino Mausoleum and the opening of the Saint's urn (May 19). On May 20th, the day of the solemnity, the celebrations presided over by Monsignor Antonio D'Angelo and Monsignor Sabino Iannuzzi concluded with the procession of the Saint's statue, the arrival of the Mayors with their banners, and the solemn blessing of the city and visiting communities, featuring a performance by the historic Sbandieratori dell'Aquila group. All events were free of charge.
